Healthy Eating

Meet Shakila, our chef at MHP with a unique twist – a former teacher with a passion for nutrition, herbology, and gardening. She brings her enthusiasm for healthy eating and food diversity to every meal she prepares.

Healthy eating is a cornerstone of our Early Years education program, setting the stage for a lifetime of well-being.

Our program not only provides balanced and nourishing meals but also educates children about the importance of having variety of food in our diet, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, we aim to cultivate a positive relationship with food, teaching children to appreciate the connection between what they eat and how they feel.

Gardening in our Marble Hill Park Nursery

Gardening activities at Mandarin Ducklings Marble Hill Park Nursery are an all-year endeavour. We cultivate herbs, flowers, and some vegetables in our nursery gardens. Additionally, we maintain a dedicated plot in the nearby Kitchen Gardens of Marble Hill Park. Being a part of Kitchen Gardens allows the children to observe a wide variety of community-grown crops and flowers.

Engaging in gardening fosters significant learning opportunities in the early years. It helps develop an understanding of food origins and growth processes, as well as the life cycles of plants and insects. Moreover, these activities encourage children to have an open mind about trying various foods.

healthy lviing - habits and lifestyle

At Mandarin Ducklings MHP Nursery, we emphasize healthy living by ensuring that our children spend a lot of their time engaged in nature and outdoor learning. Our expansive facilities around us, which include two gardens, an allotment, woodlands, a sports field and tennis court, and various other amenities, provide a rich and diverse learning environment. This setting enables a wide range of activities, offering children a more comprehensive and stimulating experience. As a result, they become more active and experience enhanced physical development through the breadth and depth of our program. This approach not only nurtures their physical growth but also contributes significantly to their overall well-being and learning.
