Healthy Eating

Our Healthy Eating Programme at our Putney Bridge nursery encompasses much more than just the diverse array of nutritious meals prepared by our chef. It integrates an educational component where children learn about different foods and gain an understanding of their origins. This holistic approach includes engaging the children in gardening activities and cooking experiences, allowing them to be actively involved in the journey from garden to table. Moreover, we encourage our older children to take part in preparing snacks for their groups, fostering a sense of responsibility and teamwork. This comprehensive programme not only educates them about healthy eating habits but also instills valuable life skills.

Here is a sample menu of nursery meals.

Gardening at our putney bridge nursery

Each year, from March to October, we cultivate a diverse range of vegetables in our dedicated plot. Through hands-on experiences, children develop a profound understanding of the origins of our food, the growth processes of plants across various seasons, the role of insects in aiding plant growth, and the life cycles of plants.

Furthermore, they acquire valuable skills that transform them into budding gardeners. This program not only enriches their knowledge but also fosters a deeper connection to nature and a healthier lifestyle.

Being Active and Physical Education

At our Putney Bridge nursery, we prioritize active and physical education through our enchanting outdoor space, which includes a natural garden and a paddock.

Our natural garden has features like a climbing tree, a wooden bridge, a textured garden, and a sand play area. These elements encourage active engagement and physical activity among the children. The paddock serves as a hub for Forest School activities and nature-based learning, while the spacious field is used for sports, agility training, and outdoor yoga.

Adding to our robust physical education program, we have partnered with Fulham Football Club Foundation to offer a weekly football class, providing an excellent opportunity for children to learn from experienced professionals. This collaboration aims to develop their skills and teamwork, fostering a love for the sport and contributing to their overall physical and social development.
