Our Mission

Our nursery is dedicated to providing children with a joyful, healthy, and stimulating environment that not only encourages fun but is also instrumental in nurturing essential skills and knowledge about the world. We believe in creating a space where learning and play go hand in hand, fostering a love for discovery and personal growth in each child.

Core Values

We are deeply committed to instilling core values in children through a blend of activities, discussions, and exemplary role modelling by our staff. It's essential for us that all team members not only embrace these values but also seamlessly integrate them into every aspect of their work. These values include:

  • A deep love for nature.

  • Embracing democracy, respect, and the rule of law.

  • Upholding equality and inclusion.

  • Fostering resilience and independence

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is meticulously designed to encompass three integral components: the Montessori Method of teaching, bilingual education, and outdoor learning. This holistic approach ensures a well-rounded educational experience, blending the self-directed and hands-on learning principles of Montessori with the cognitive and cultural benefits of bilingualism. Additionally, outdoor learning is incorporated to foster a deeper connection with nature and enhance physical development. Together, these elements create a rich, diverse educational environment that caters to the varied needs and interests of our students.

Montessori Method of Teaching

Montessori understood that great potential lies within each child. In one of her Lectures, she said: “We recognise the immense power, the unconscious forces existing in the child on the threshold of life…” Our role is to help children to draw out their potential by establishing a trusting, caring and supportive relationship with them, and by offering them rich and abundant learning opportunities for them to learn and explore. “One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child.”  - Maria Montessori

Bilingual Education

Montessori said: “The only language men ever speak perfectly is the one they learn in babyhood…” In her theory of Sensitive Periods, she talked about the first 6 years being the most critical period for children to learn languages. Bilingual or multilingualism has been shown to have many social, cognitive, psychological and lifestyle advantages based on researches in this field.  Our nursery embraces this wonderful opportunity we can provide to the next generation.

Outdoor Learning

Our Outdoor learning programme which consists gardening, forest school, and physical activities like agility training, obstacle course, and Yoga, are essential in enhancing children's development. Gardening teaches about nature and responsibility, forest schooling fosters exploration and problem-solving, and sports encourage physical development, teamwork, and discipline. Together, these activities support holistic growth in children, nurturing their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional skills in a dynamic and engaging way.

Healthy eating and living

In addition to our 3 core components of our curriculum, at Mandarin Ducklings, we integrate a strong focus on healthy eating and living into our nursery program, as we understand the immense importance of these formative years in establishing lifelong habits for well-being. Our dedication to promoting nutritious diets ensures that children receive the vital nutrients necessary for their physical growth and cognitive development, laying the foundation for a lifetime of good health. We firmly believe that healthy habits developed in early childhood have a higher chance of persisting, significantly reducing the risk of future health complications.

Our dedication to healthy living aligns with our mission to provide a holistic and nurturing educational experience, giving children the best possible start in life.
