Mission Statement

Our aim is to offer children a happy, healthy and stimulating environment where they develop essential skills and learn about the world around us whilst having lots of fun.

Montessori Method of Teaching

Montessori understood that great potential lies within each child. In one of her Lectures, she said: “We recognise the immense power, the unconscious forces existing in the child on the threshold of life…” Our role is to help children to draw out their potential by establishing a trusting, caring and supportive relationship with them, and by offering them rich and abundant learning opportunities for them to learn and explore.

“One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child.”  - Maria Montessori

Bilingual Education

Montessori said: “The only language men ever speak perfectly is the one they learn in babyhood…” In her theory of Sensitive Periods, she talked about the first 6 years being the most critical period for children to learn languages. Bilingual or multilingualism has been shown to have many social, cognitive, psychological and lifestyle advantages based on researches in this field.  Our nursery embraces this wonderful opportunity we can provide to the next generation.

Outdoors

Our nursery offers a healthy environment for children to be in, and our outdoor programme helps children to connect with nature and to learn through nature. Research shows that children born today have a lower life expectancy than their parents, for the first time ever, due to inactivity and obesity resulting from the modern lifestyle. Being outdoors is therefore seen as being ever more important for children today.

Core Values

We are committed to promoting core values to children through activities, discussions and also by staff role modelling. We expect all staff to commit to these values and to imbed them into everything they do:

  • Love for nature

  • Democracy, respect and rule of law

  • Equality and inclusion

  • Resilience and independence
