Mandarin Ducklings proudly opened its first nursery in Twickenham/St Margaret's in 2013, and we've recently expanded with a new location in the Putney Bridge area, launched in June 2022. We are delighted to extend our unique approach to early years education to more families across South West London, offering them the exceptional care and learning experiences that Mandarin Ducklings is known for.

what makes Mandarin Ducklings so special?

There are many reasons and every day exciting things happen at our existing settings, but there are three primary factors which, when combined, make Mandarin Ducklings quite a unique nursery offer.

Firstly, we centre our approach around Montessori teaching.  This provides an excellent framework focused on each individual child’s physical and psychological development and allows them to unleash their ability to learn through meaningful and fun activities.

Equally important to us is providing children with the opportunity to learn and appreciate nature and the world around them.   We consequently conduct as many traditional learning activities as possible outdoors so that our children experience the wonders of nature in both their learning, as well as playing, experiences.  I think we can all agree that, especially over the past couple of years, far too much time has been spent inside!

And then there’s the remarkable capability of young children to absorb and learn new languages – far better than older children and adults, in fact!  Because of this, the third element of our unique positioning is to have created a bilingual environment where we introduce the children to Chinese Mandarin from the very earliest moment.  It plays a daily part of the Mandarin Ducklings experience and to witness the pride with which the children show off their new phrases and Chinese songs to their parents is something really quite special.  Indeed, not to be outdone, those parents often turn their attention to picking up snippets of vocabulary too!

We believe that Mandarin Ducklings presents a truly different choice to local families for early year education. Our aim is to provide a happy, healthy and stimulating environment where children develop essential skills and learn about the real world whilst having fun!.
